(with chain safety compliance in mind)

(top or face)

1. Measure the brackets evenly across the track length and mark with a pencil. We recommend the end brackets are at least 5cm into the track. The blind must be installed at the correct height to make the chain compliant with safety legislation. This will be the fixing/installation height provided with your order. Otherwise the chain loop must be at least 60cm off the floor.

2. Fit the brackets either Top Fix or Face Fix.
Top Fix – Ideal for inside the recess or ceiling.
Measure the distance that any handles protrude from the window frame. Mark this measurement on the lintel and use it to position the back of the bracket. Mark the position of the holes and secure the bracket into the lintel using supplied or applicable screws and wall plugs.

Face Fix – Ideal for outside the recess.
Position the brackets with swing arm facing towards you and mark the holes. Secure the bracket into place using supplied or applicable screws and wall plugs.

3. Secure track to brackets. Push the swing arm anti-clockwise as far as it will go. Now clip the track over the bracket, first easing the front lip of the headrail into place. Push swing arm clockwise until it locks into place, firmly holding the track.

Advice for DIY Roman Blinds

Positioning Cord Drums
Before you cord your blind up, cut the track to size with a hacksaw (not provided).
Position the cord drums evenly spaced with your outer drums 6-8cm away from the ends. Press the clear plastic toggle to unlock, move and press toggle flat again to lock it in place. Remove the orange pin and pull the chain so between 10-20cm of cord goes round the drum. Cord your blind through the tape loops and into the cord stopper.

Clear Cord Stoppers
When tapes on the blind are spaced more than 20cm apart a breakaway device must be fitted. We use a clear cord connector and stopper system, fully tested to BS EN 16434 for UV, heat, cold & impact resistance. The connector is attached to the blind and the cord is released through the device when approx. 6kg is applied. Do not cut or burn the end. Attach to the blind with the plastic connector to prevent the stopper from creating a choking hazard on the floor. We recommend 2 connectors per stopper for the last 2 tapes of the blind.

Safety Regulations
Your track will be fitted with either a 1:1 ratio or 1:4 ratio Control Unit. Both Control Units and continuous chains come with the latest quick release safety mechanism and are compliant as per the fixing height provided. The loop of the chain must be fitted minimum 60cm off the floor. Extra length chains and wall safety boxes are available upon request and subject to compliance with safety legislation. Cords are to be free of knots for safety devices to quick release. All Roman Blinds will be sent compliant with current Child Safety Regulations BS EN 13120;2009+al:2014
