Pantone has revealed its new colour of the year: Peach Fuzz.

Officially coded Pantone 13-1023, this gentle peach tone is likely to become a popular choice of colour in interior design in the months to come.

Executive director of the Pantone Colour Institute states the reasoning for choosing Peach Fuzz as this: ‘In seeking a hue that echoes our innate yearning for closeness and connection, we chose a colour radiant with warmth and modern excellence. A shade that resonates with compassion, offers a tactile embrace, and effortlessly bridges the youthful with the timeless’.

Sanderson Chinese Lantern Fabric – Peach Blossom

This fabric is part of Sanderson’s Water Garden collection – a selection of vibrant floral prints inspired by oriental water gardens. Such water gardens became popular in English country estates in the 19th and 20th century as part of a growing romanticism for China and Japan. This particular fabric carries the elegance and exoticism associated with these water gardens through its warm use of peach and natural flower patterns. It’s a great bold fabric for curtains, blinds or even upholstery. Contrast it with minimal white textures or deep regal blues. 

Harlequin Harmonic Fabric – Peach Fizz

Okay, this one is fizz, not fuzz. However, it’s still a form of peach worth looking into this year. Inspired by the colour of pink champagne, this fabric could be great for adding a sophisticated bubbliness to any room. It is part of the minimalistic Pinks collection from Harlequins Prism Plains, which you can check out for more pink hues. These fabrics are known for being tough and stain resistant making them suitable for upholstery or curtains in a family environment. They are comprised mostly of polyester, with a small amount of linen weaved in. 

Linwood Loseley Velvet Fabric – Peach

Linwood’s Omega prints collection contains some truly unique and vibrant designs that are worth perusing if you like bold textures. This Loseley Velvet print is just one example, containing a busy pattern of blossoming flowers and green leaves over a peach background. The peach brings a modern warm radiance to this classical style. Spice up some curtains or roman blinds by embracing this fabric, or use it to upholster an elegant statement couch – it’s your choice. This fabric is 100% polyester weaved into a velvet/chenille fabric. 

Sanderson Home Vibeke Fabric – Peach

This is another fabric from Sanderson – this time from their Vibeke collection. The Chenille characteristic means these Vibeke fabrics have a sophisticated fuzzy texture. The collection features a diverse palette of colours. This peach option could be just the chic choice for 2024. We recommend using this fabric for curtains and roman blinds as opposed to upholstery as it has not been FR-treated. That said, if you like the idea of using this fabric on a sofa, you can always look into getting it FR treated.
